On Friday, November 16th, CES will hold our annual Turkey Trot, the culminating event for our endurance running unit, Get a Running Start, as well as a celebration of our national Thanksgiving holiday. In this event, students will be given 10 minutes to complete as many laps as possible around the RHHS track.
All students will gather at the high jump area of the field immediately following the Turkey Trot to exchange wristbands for tokens. Then they will return to their classrooms.
Be sure that your child dresses appropriately for the activity and the weather on the day of the run. In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made by 8 a.m. and the Rain-date Turkey Trot will be held on Tuesday, November 20th.
Volunteers are needed from 9:15 am until 2:30 pm to make the event a success. Volunteers are needed to hand out wristbands to the children as they complete each of their laps, record and collect wristbands after the run, and pass out tokens, and of course offer encouragement along the way. Sign up online now!
Donations of 10lb. turkeys are also needed. Again, this year, with the help of Mrs. Palich, the donated turkeys will be given to needy families of Stevens Forest Elementary and Talbott Springs Elementary. Sign up with the link below.
Thank you for your support!
